The Center for Birds of Prey Scouting Overnight Program

An experience of a lifetime

Fall asleep under the oaks and awake to the calls of bald eagles and red-shouldered hawks nearby. Spend the day watching birds of prey in flight and observe the Vulture Restaurant, too!

• 1 night – $20 per attendee
• 2 nights – $30 per attendee
• Minimum of 30 attendees; maximum of 100
  Offered the 2nd and 4th weekend each month (contact us in advance to confirm availability)
  The designated camping area is conveniently located and includes a picnic table and fire pit. Daily educational programs will provide approximately two hours of curriculum.
  Curriculum:
• Introduction to South Carolina’s indigenous birds of prey species as well as a number of non-native species
• Observation and natural history discussions about habitat needs and conservation challenges
• Interactions with live birds of prey and opportunities to experience birds up close

Service Learning Opportunities

Service projects are available and will be arranged on a group by group basis by request.
Camping program is restricted to campers ages six and above. Campers 6-10 must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult. Campers 11-17 must have a group adult leader and one chaperone per every 10 campers.

Fees

Payment is due at the onset of the program. Checks should be made payable to the Avian Conservation Center. We also accept Visa and Mastercard.

Conduct

Willful property destruction and theft will not be tolerated. Group leaders will be held accountable for any damage resulting from such conduct.

To book this visit, you must be an adult group leader and you must attend with this group. Group leader is responsible for ensuring that all campers have a signed permission slip and photography assent.
